My Blog Roll

Once I was able to post again after two years of frustration, I began a browse through the blogs I have followed.  I am sorry to see so many that are no longer active.  I wonder if they succumbed to the same frustration as I.

Along the way, I have encountered a living room renovation started in early spring but with no updates for months.  I wonder about the blogger and hope she is just so happily enjoying her new room that she forgot to update us.

A blog about making a bed reminded me of the trick my former MIL taught me about turning the top sheet upside down so that the embroidery or piping or the top of the seam shows when folded over tops of the blankets.  Since I no longer use a top sheet on my own bed and the little guest bed hasn't been made up in a while, I just hadn't thought about it.  I enjoy making an attractive bed and I'm grateful that we trend more toward comfort these days.

A well made bed.

I'm sure I have entered some contests with long overdue deadlines.  It didn't matter.  I had fun.

In a post on Our Fifth House sharing a son's new bedroom I discovered a website I didn't know about.  Wisteria.  I'm looking forward to doing more looking there.  Especially at the game boards.  http://www.ourfifthhouse.com/

It seemed safe to unsubscribe to a blog that has no posts since 2013.  Maybe if they come back, as I did, I will rediscover.  Another, has no posts since February.  I will wait on that one.

One contest I did enter was for a copy of Sharon Santoni's new book.  Sharon's blog is My French Country Home.  She has been on my roll for a long time and I enjoy her posts.  I hope I win the book.  http://sharonsantoni.com/

In a few cases I just knew I wasn't going where they were going so I adjusted accordingly.  I'm only a third of the way through and looking forward to the continued adventure.

Food for thought!

Thanks to those of you are still with me here and who are keeping interesting stuff going on your  pages.   Please forgive me for not doing proper links.  I will have to learn how to do that again.

Roll on!!

  1. I worry about those bloggers who have been inactive for a good while too and miss them. I had one blogger recently get in touch after many months and say that she had been secretly reading and was considering posting again. I hope she does but I understand all too well when blogging about life sometimes interferes with life. I also understand when you speak of considering whether a blog is going where you're going. There are only so many hours in a day to read blogs! You have to do what works best for you, Sami.

    Best to you,

  2. Dewena, you are so kind to stay with me. It is a cleansing, of a sort, in keeping with a new path toward finding my true vocation. Meaning being true to who I am. I'm sure a lot of them were added in my attempts to build my own audience. That matters less now that the opportunity to express myself.

    nodding and smiling at your
    speculations about these blogs
that were left behind ~ if only
for a while : ) Thank you for
    your visit and thoughtful comment.
    Roll on, indeed!

  4. I've continued. One page had a beautiful template and all the links and headers...and nothing. Never a post. It is an interesting journey. I'm almost halfway through. I will report on the second half. Thanks for the comment.
