ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE

The new color.  The color of Spring.  It's in.  Orange.  Actually the name of a shade featured in Pantone's Colors of Spring is Tangerine Tango.  How much orange is enough?  How much is too much?  Will you adopt it?  How would you use tangerine orange?  We looked around for some orange and here's what we found.

This may be more brick red but it is a way to subtly add color.  Patterned rugs of this type are very popular.

A little orange makes a big impact softened by botanicals.

The stripes in the wallpaper visualize tangerine orange.  Would you do a room with orange in the wallpaper or do you think it is too trendy?  This one seems harmless enough.  I like the splashy pillows.

Ahhh!  Old world luxury!  Orange resplendant!  Tangerine Tango?  Pretty close.

This is the color chip of Tangerine Tango from the Pantone website.  Here's what they say about the color:

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Orange is not a color I think of when I think of color schemes.  I once had neighbors who were fans of a football team whose color is orange and everything in their house that could be orange was.  Maybe I'm jaded.

Thinking about a color to soften tangerine orange?
How about honeysuckle pink which was last year's color?
Two shades of pink and tangerine orange...what other color?
Putty?  Cement?  Charcoal gray?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
